Legal Compliance Assistant (Full-time or part-time)

Location: Central London (Office based)

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

We are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Risk and Compliance Assistant to join our central London office. Applications will be considered for full-time or part-time work depending on the candidate and their hours of availability.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with individual fee earners and the firm as a whole to ensure all compliance obligations are achieved.
  • Working closely with our third-party compliance consultants to ensure SRA requirements are met and maintained.
  • Keeping up to date with new SRA regulations, requirements and regulatory updates to ensure the firm's ongoing compliance.
  • Implementing the firm’s policies and procedures and assisting the firm to adhere to current and new regulations and guidance.
  • Assisting in preparations for regulatory inspections.
  • Monitoring compliance with the firm’s risk and AML procedures for clients and matters.
  • Checking and processing Customer Due Diligence (CDD) for new and existing clients, including Source or Funds, Source of Wealth and High-Risk client matters, when applicable.
  • Conducting screenings to identify politically exposed persons (PEPs), sanctions concerns, and other regulatory and reputational risks.
  • Addressing compliance queries from fee earners.

Experience required:

  • Good prior experience working in a law firm environment in a compliance role.
  • Solid understanding of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) regulations and compliance structures and risk and compliance procedures.


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Literacy, accuracy and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Proactive, with good strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • IT literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook).
