Fixed Fee Mediation Services
£500 + VAT per party
The fixed fee includes:
- A four-hour mediation session.
- Use of our Central London meeting facilities (subject to availability).
- Up to two hours of mediator preparation before the session.
- Mediation conducted by an ADR Group Accredited Mediator.
What Is Mediation?
Mediation is a confidential form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and a process without prejudice in which an independent mediator facilitates negotiations to help parties reach a voluntary settlement.
Unlike court proceedings, mediation is flexible, private and focused on practical outcomes that the parties agree to and choose to accept.
Key Benefits of Mediation
Mediation offers a number of advantages over traditional litigation.
Key benefits include:
- Confidentiality and privacy, enabling open discussion without prejudicing legal positions.
- It can be arranged swiftly and at a proportionate cost, with clear fee control.
- It helps preserve commercial and personal relationships by reducing conflict.
- Most importantly, any resolution remains within the parties’ control rather than being imposed by a court.
How the Mediation Process Works
Initial enquiry:
Contact our team to discuss your dispute and check availability. We will confirm suitability for our fixed-fee scheme, agree the mediation date and arrange the meeting facilities.
Preparation:
Before the mediation, each party provides a short position statement and any key documents. The mediator conducts up to two hours of preparation to understand the issues and plan the structure of the session.
The mediation session:
On the day, the mediator explains the process and ground rules. Parties may meet jointly and in separate private meetings. The mediator facilitates discussion, tests positions and explores options with the aim of reaching consensus.
Settlement:
If an agreement is reached, terms are recorded in a written settlement document for signature on the day.

Who This Service Is For
This fixed-fee, late-afternoon format is intended for two-party civil, commercial or property disputes valued at up to £200,000 where the parties wish to explore settlement in a time-efficient, confidential setting.
How to Prepare for Your Mediation Session
To ensure mediation is as productive as possible, each party should prepare in advance.
Please submit 7 days ahead of the mediation:
- Your short position statement.
- Any essential documents needed to understand the dispute.
- If applicable, draft wording for possible settlement.
Before attending, you should also consider:
- Your objectives for the mediation.
- Settlement parameters and outcomes you would be prepared to accept.
- Any practical arrangements needed to implement a deal, if an agreement is reached.
After the Mediation
If the Case Settles
Where an agreement is reached, the parties and, where relevant, their legal representatives, will document the agreement before leaving.
The signed settlement will set out the terms and any steps to be taken and will conclude the dispute on those terms.
If the Case Does Not Settle
If a settlement is not achieved, the mediation will end without prejudice to either party’s legal rights.
The discussions remain confidential. The parties may continue negotiations afterwards or progress the matter through other procedures as they see fit.
