Ryan Ottman


Ryan acts for companies, entrepreneurs and senior management executives in respect of corporate M&A, shareholder issues, corporate governance, company setup, restructuring and insolvency matters.  He also advises UK companies on regulatory matters in the alternative funds, corporate finance and fintech sectors including fund setup, FCA authorisation, e-money and payment services.

In addition to non-contentious work, Ryan also undertakes litigation and arbitration involving M&A, insolvency, regulatory, complex shareholder and cross-border commercial disputes.

Work highlights:

  • – Advising FCA regulated e-money institutions on regulatory compliance, FCA audits, post-Brexit operating procedures and foreign jurisdiction subsidiary setup
  • – Setup of multiple offshore hedge fund entities together with UK-based FCA regulated fund management partnerships
  • – Pursing litigation on behalf of 40+ claimants in a UK land investment and insurance dispute
  • – Re-structuring family office holdings group involving complex shareholding structures
  • – Acting for sellers of a private educational institution in a transaction valued in excess of $80m
